Qualifications

  1. Be a practicing Roman Catholic, who is Irish or of Irish descent through either parent, or who is legally adopted by such.
  2. Be between 17 and 23 years of age.
  3. Never have been married and is childless.
  4. Have completed the official Biographical form and submit a $20.00 entry fee along with it.
  5. Have submitted all entry forms by February 8, 2019, to the chairperson: Maureen Kelly – 16560 Levan, Livonia, MI 48154. 734.632.0334.
  6. Appear before the committee for an interview on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the AOH Hall. Program is Saturday, February 16, 2019
  7. If you are selected, you are expected to appear at the 2019 events (* events are mandatory):

Mass at Monaghan Knights of Columbus, Livonia, followed by dinner, short program and dancing.

  • If there are any other events throughout the year, you will be notified.

  • Please take good care of the sashes, they must be returned to Maureen Kelly after the Charity Ball in October.

  • Scholarship money will be awarded in July. Checks are made out to you and the school of your choice.

  1. The amount of your scholarship money will depend on how many functions you attend.  If you win, you are committing to the above mentioned dates.
  2. You may enter the program multiple years, unless you are the 1st place winner. Once you are the 1st place winner you may not enter again.

Basis of Selection:

Application, personality, knowledge of Irish heritage, poise and appearance.

Selection Process:

A panel of independent judges will select three applicants for the positions of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
